The village was founded in 1364. In the 16th century, it was included in the Dutch colonization. The sources from 1776 mentioned the following surnames: von Bergen, Penner, Reimer, Suckau, and Westerwick. In 1820, the village, together with Murksendorf had 42 residents, including 31 Mennonites.

The cultural landscape has been transformed by the construction of the E7 highway. In 1980s, the village had 4-5 old buildings in 10 identified homesteads. Currently, there are no historical buildings.
