![]() The village was granted the privileges in 1399. The sources from 1776 mentioned the following Mennonite surnames: Barg, Ens, Claasen, Reimer, and Tiesen. In 1820, the village had 118 residents, including 22 Mennonites. Village layout - a flood bank linear village with ca. 10 farms located on the western side of the flood bank The cultural landscape of the village has been almost completely transformed. Modern buildings from 1980s and 90s dominate. Few remaining pre-war buildings have been severely transformed - houses no. 2, 4, 6, and 58. Basically, only one wooden building (no. 50) dating from the 1st quarter of the 19th century has survived. There is also a wooden barn and a brick cowshed from 1909. Fragments of homestead vegetation have survived in the southern section of the village as well as vegetation surrounding homesteads and field layout of the colony that used to be situated on the western side of the village.
